As someone who isn't going, I really hope that some of the speakers can be
cajoled/coerced/bribed (whatever works) into submitting write-ups, either to
everyone's favorite journal, or else a web site such as
http://www.perl.com.

All in all, these are some strong talks and I wish a few were full papers in the Conference proceedings. I especially like japhy's Loop::Watch module, which has some things in common with Event and Carp::Datum.
However, I am shocked, appalled, and offended by the unnecessarily foul langauge used in Elaine Ashton's talk summary.Hopefully she's doing that for comic impact and doesn't come off that way in her presentation.

My module isn't on CPAN yet, but it will be before the conference. As for Elaine's talk, I think she has a point to make, and I can understand her frustration.

I'm on a couple of e-mail lists with Elaine, and watch her patiently try to grind sense into the senseless. As long as she doesn't come armed, she's justified in anything she does.
If she does come armed, well, I wouldn't blame her.
I'd also like to acknowledge my admiration of davorg for having two glaring ambiguities in his talk title and description. I'm anxious to hear how he resolves them.

They laughed at Joan of Arc, but she went right ahead and built it. --Gracie Allen

Heh! Well, my longer talk "Increasing Perl Usage" and
my lightning talk "Why Perl Advocacy is a Bad Idea" pretty
much contradict each other. You'll have to come and see
them both to see which one I really believe :)
