in thread GDBM_File for Windows?

Gdbm for Windows lists 95 / 98 / ME / NT / 2000 / XP but not Server 2003.

The cpan page for this module states that gdbm must be installed first. The cpan command line interface can be used to install the GDBM_File module for Strawberry or ActivePerl. http://www.activestate.com/blog/2010/10/how-install-cpan-modules-activeperl. Update: oops, I see Daxim already provided the link.

Thanks, I know how to use PPM, but there's no GDBM_File module in any repository, and I've tried several. The GDBM_File page on CPAN links to a full download of Perl 5.14, it is NOT a link to the module, which seems wrong. I need advice specific to this module, if anyone can help.

Who said anything about using PPM? Do you know how to use the command line? Ever heard of typing 'cpan' at the command line?

I'm a Unix guy from decades back, I know how to use the command line, thank you.

I've not previously had occasion to use the "cpan" command, but as I noted, CPAN's listing for GDBM_File leads to a full download of Perl, and I cannot upgrade or replace this version of Perl on this server.

Surely there's a way to install GDBM_File by itself, on an existing Perl install?
