i have spent a lot of time trying to get the sample code from WIN32::API::MIDI to work for getting input from a variety of MIDI devices. i have tried everything i can and have had no success. this might be partly because i am using a win 8 computer. the examples with the distribution are not full working examples, critical parts are missing to get them to actually work. i really want a working example that will allow me to find midi input devices, choose one and monitor the data coming from it. i have searched the web extensively and cannot find any examples. please do not refer me to the example code with WIN32::API::MIDI the only "working" example is specifically for use with a device i do not have nor do i have the obscure information needed to make a config file to "fake it"
