I imagine its because its the only logical response; This is the sequence of events
The OP appears purposefully vague and very uninterested in solving whatever problem he is experiencing, uninterested in describing the problem, uninterested in learning how split works so he can know how to use split ...

Compelling, but with one flaw: the complaint was anonymous and may or may not have been GuiPerl.
In fact, I agree that in general, a node that only says RTFM is useless.

Except that "so read the documentation" is not a civil response and doesn't show any effort. It could have at least included a link to split.
