You are obviously entitled to your opinion.

What I was trying to tell you was that your choice(s) of spreading your information has only caught my interest in a negative manner, mostly because it was in places or in formats that I do not consume.

If that makes my opinion invalid, that's great for you, but having an invalid opinion does not imply that I'll part with my money for your project. If you think that only after having studiously reviewed all your marketing materials, I am allowed to make a value judgement, this also implies a very weird connection between you and my attention or money, at least from my point of view.

So, things being as they are, maybe my last assertion wasn't that far off the mark, at least by my standards and by the supposedly more objective standards of money taken in. Maybe the other persons are better at marketing themselves and their ideas to the people who part with their money. But then again, maybe your approach works for you and your sponsors, and complaining about lack of money influx is just part of your marketing.

      Corion,

I am sorry you do not like the manner in which I present RPerl, and/or you do not want to make a pledge to support RPerl.

I hope you will not continue to oppose the sincere efforts of those of use working on RPerl.

Also, when have I ever "complained about lack of money influx"???

      Thanks,
      ~ Will

I took your juxtaposition of the money amounts of the grants given to the people you listed with

when I am able to raise a fraction of that from the good will of the Perl community

as a complaint that you don't get as much money as they do.

But I've seen that you have applied for TPF grants, in addition to your kickstarter efforts. Your applications, if granted, bring you into batting range of the numbers you already cited so the point is moot of how the other people are able to raise such amounts and you aren't.

"You, sir, are a known troll, and your opinion is invalid."

This statement is absolutely inferior. My 2 ¢: Lorem ipsum kizuaheli. Aha. Now let's get loud Mr. President:

      Hi karlgoethebier,

Wow, you seem to be even weirder than me!

Thank you for your interest in RPerl.

I'm sorry you are unimpressed with my lorem ipsum placeholder website, I am also unhappy with it, I have spent all my time working on RPerl recently but I really do need to get that done. Perhaps you know a good Perl web dev who would be willing to work pro bono?

Thank you for your interest in the Austin Perl Mongers. I am humbled to serve as President since we revived the group a few years ago.

I happen to be good friends with mst.

"...I am also unhappy with it..."

Take it offline. It's the thinkable badest advertisement.

"...a good Perl web dev who would be willing to work pro bono?..."

For the moment i don't see any reason why such an effort should be pro bono publico.

And BTW, i guess you need a communication designer and not a Perl developer.

After reading some of your writings i must admit that i don't trust you. Too much of this Holy Grail and/or Promised Land stuff. I am not convinced.

        Karl
