I'd use "MaitreDeHotel".

    I'd use "MaitreDeHotel".
    Please, no, it looks to me as a mistake by someone not knowing the French language. Maitre_d_hotel or Maitre_D_Hotel seem much better to me.

        Thanks Anonymonk, I know what it means (and, BTW, despite the name, it usually relates to restaurants more than to hotels, so that restaurant chief attendant or chief waiter might be a more accurate translation). And I did not ask that.

        But it is a French word and French happens to be my mother tongue, and I was only saying that writing MaitreDeHotel, i.e. not eliding the "e", looks like a fairly bad mistake, not following a very basic rule of French grammar.
