Custom icons for scripts? What are you talking about? I guess you are assuming some kind of context, but you aren't mentioning it.

I recognize Perl programs because they start with

#!/usr/bin/perl
Funny enough, my kernel has the same ideas.

    The AM is probably referring to icons displayed by a GUI in a graphical file system browser.

    My vote goes to your strategy as well.
