Personally I think that doing so in Perl News _wouldnt_ be as horrible as some folks make it out to be.

I think that doing so would be a disservice to both Leigh, perlmonks and that merry band of job hunters looking for Perl work.

• It's a disservice to Leigh because there is already a place for Perl related job postings http://jobs.perl.org/. It makes much more sense to point Leigh to a site that is read by the target market in question, rather than encourage posting to a site where (hopefully!) most people are not looking for work.
• It's a disservice to perlmonks. To people who are not looking for work job postings are just noise. Not to mention the issues over what is/isn't a Perl job.
• It's a disservice to job hunters. When I'm looking for work I want to spend as little time as possible wandering around different web sites looking at job adverts. The more people the Perl community can push towards http://jobs.perl.org/ the less time I have to waste browsing.
