The configuration of the cpanm options in my installation. cpanm should not install "suggested" per default.

What configuration of the cpanm options, where did you see that?

App::cpanminus - It's dependency free (can bootstrap itself), requires zero configuration, and stands alone. When running, it requires only 10MB of RAM.

update: Please mark your updates , thank you. How do I change/delete my post?

So you're now saying installing Minilla installed Devel::PPPort and Dist::Zilla for you, as if you were using the experimental --with-suggests?

It doesn't for me

$ mversion Devel::PPPort Dist::Zilla Warning: module 'Devel::PPPort' does not seem to be installed. Warning: module 'Dist::Zilla' does not seem to be installed. $ cpanm Minilla --> Working on Minilla Fetching http://www.cpan.org/authors/id/T/TO/TOKUHIROM/Minilla-v0.11.0 +.tar.gz ... OK Configuring Minilla-v0.11.0 ... OK Building and testing Minilla-v0.11.0 ... OK Successfully installed Minilla-v0.11.0 (upgraded from v0.6.2) 1 distribution installed $ mversion Devel::PPPort Dist::Zilla Warning: module 'Devel::PPPort' does not seem to be installed. Warning: module 'Dist::Zilla' does not seem to be installed.

Also perlbrew doesn't set PERL_CPANM_OPT
