I've dumped the original content from this node because it must have wound up a few people. Sorry.

I got the wrong end of the stick. I thought the point of the original post was having the same feeling as Dirk Gently in "The Long Dark Teat-time of the Soul", where his horoscope (written by The Great Zaganza) is always written to wind him up because the horoscope writer is an old friend. (Quoted here.)

If you haven't read them before, the two Dirk Gently books (Douglas Adams) are certifiably funny and worth a read if you ever encounter them. (More so than my original comment, and better spelt too.)
