My Daddy found tonio's node yesterday, and started wondering home many other kids have had pre-emptive nodes made for them?

I haven't written any Perl yet, but I have managed to BSOD my Daddy's WinXP machine and he still has no idea how I did it.

I was wondering if the other kids wanted to band together in a MonkKids group to help keep track of fun kids stuff like this, and maybe build a baby Perl tutorial for the older ones (simple loops to build kid's song's like "One man went to mow" and things like that).

ps - usurping tonio's claim, am I still the youngest PerlMonk? (born mar 2002).

For being two years old you write quite well. ; )

Alex turned three months old today, but I've yet to register an account for him. (Although his mom did set up a LiveJournal account...)

I've thought about doing it for my 7 year old daughter, but she would rather play with her Barbie dolls at the moment. She has also been diagnosed with HFA (High Functioning Autism), and therefore has enough problems with just simply fitting in at times.

I object to overzealous parents claiming future user names for their young children. Who knows, at the time they're interested in Perl (if ever), they might not even want to use that name? After all, how many monks here do use their actual first name for a login? Not that many, I gather — or else, some parents must have a really strange taste in names.

Chill out dude! It's not like I've put her down for Harvard or anything!

And it's not like I'll be pissed if she isn't interested in Perl. All I know is she's at the age where she mimics things I do, and she shows a genuine curiosity.

The point that I was (oops) abbeyrose was making was that maybe there should be a section that collates Perl resources for Kids? After all, if your kid shows an interest in the piano, wouldn't you encourage here to learn more? Why should Perl be any different?.

I do have balance y'know. I originally wanted to call her "b" ("what does the b stand for?", "nothing, it's 'a b' "), but I realize there are limits to bad humor :)
