    Umm, i think that you can launch n threads (1 for each port to be 'scanned') and make your requests simultaneusly...

    There are other similar post yet, maybe you can get some ideas from them: HTTP Proxy Detection and Proxy Detection In Perl.

    Regards.

    perl -Te 'print map { chr((ord)-((10,20,2,7)[$i++])) } split //,"turo"'

      Could you elaborate? I'm not sure i see the harm. There are some legit reasons for wanting to test a list of IP's and see if they are still open proxies.

      Eric Hodges $_='y==QAe=e?y==QG@>@?iy==QVq?f?=a@iG?=QQ=Q?9'; s/(.)/ord($1)-50/eigs;tr/6123457/- \/|\\\_\n/;print;

        That's like assuming people who use peer to peer software are all copyright violators.

        I certainly want to test my network to see if there are any vulnerabilities on it which need to be erradicated.

        (I know you didn't make the assumption of bad intentions, just pointed out the possibility. I prefer to hope people who ask questions here will use the answers ethically.)

      Thanks for visitng the node i wrote

      i didn't mean any harm by this subject , i could take proxies manually one by one put them in my browser and test them therefore you can consider it as automating a job

      i don't need to test them for anything bad, i need them for a checking props , like in IRC chat if you used it

      my node is allmost harmless and if you see its not good enough to be here , ask for deletion ... i just want one reason to take it as a bad thing ???

      at last Sorry for my weak english , if there's anything you can't understand in my words i will try my best explaining it to you

        Well, you could start by explaining why you need to test weak proxies. That'd help me. If it's simply "I need to remove them" ok, But if it's "I need to expoit them" then I need a chance to object.

        Be sure to read my standard disclaimer if this is a reply.

      I've already used my rationed 2 votes of the day, but ++merlyn's spidey sense.
