That's like assuming people who use peer to peer software are all copyright violators.

I certainly want to test my network to see if there are any vulnerabilities on it which need to be erradicated.

(I know you didn't make the assumption of bad intentions, just pointed out the possibility. I prefer to hope people who ask questions here will use the answers ethically.)
