Is that legal? I mean, a Perl license means it can be used under either "ARTISTIC" or "GPL", but as far as I know the DMV wants you to have one set of tags for vehicle... (Me, I'd put an "MIT" license on my car, except that it'd sound pretentious, and I'm not sure I want just anyone taking it out for a drive anyway. Plus, heh, I don't own a car.)	[reply]

I had PERL but got tired of all the grammar cops stopping me and giving me "capitalization of a non-acronym" tickets. I switched to PEARL but the oyster-abuse folks got on my case. Sheesh, you can't win for losing these days. I guess I'll stick with the bumper sticker that says "my brother-in-law is a C++ student at Foo high".	[reply]

I saw a "PERL 1" ca.us plate and eventually asked Larry about it. He guessed it probably belonged to someone named Perlman. I wanted to get "VOOM" for my commute car because it'd say something appropriate when I come up behind you in the fast lane and something else appropriate after I pass you. ;) - tye	[reply]

I used to have PERL GOD when I lived in Virginia. See my home node for a picture. Pretentious? Yes. True? Not really. It was fun, though, and the Virginia DMV makes it ridiculously easy to get vanity plates. Gary Blackburn Trained Killer	[reply]

I had a similar recollection. And I believe it was markm. However, I checked his homenode and his monkpic doesn't (or no longer) shows a car, so I may be mistaken, or he might have changed it. In any case, given his location information, it doesn't seem likely to be him--though he could have moved in the last 35 weeks?
