in reply to OOSheets modifying read-only value

What happens if you type iconv --version in your command line?

A program should be light and agile, its subroutines connected like a string of pearls. The spirit and intent of the program should be retained throughout. There should be neither too little or too much, neither needless loops nor useless variables, neither lack of structure nor overwhelming rigidity." - The Tao of Programming, 4.1 - Geoffrey James

    It's not installed:
'iconv' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
Then you will have to install it.

There is a module Alien::Iconv which does just that.

Countzero, thanks for the suggestion, but when I try to create the makefile, I get this error:
Set up gcc environment - 4.5.2 I have no clue how to install iconv under Windows. If there's a way, please help by sending patches!
