TCP port 25 is more and more reserved for server-to-server communication, clients should use TCP port 587 on "their own" mail server instead. Policies on both ports and often also firewalls are used to enforce this at several providers.

    Bottom line is ... “guessing” in this case is both fruitless and pointless.   Ask...

    Remember... we’re talking about Microsoft-ware here.   ;-)   After they tell you how it’s supposed to work, you’ll still have plenty of opportunity for head-banging.
