One thought. If your reluctant to move to using a file-based data sharing option (like Tie::DBI or other) because of speed, you might consider creating a Ramdisk and placing the tied file on there. Examine what is said, not who speaks. The 7th Rule of perl club is -- pearl clubs are easily damaged. Use a diamond club instead.
