( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

No kidding. (: It's been discussed rather recently in this section (and several times in the chatter box). Super Search is being replaced. The replacement won't have this restriction.

Hmm, if you have "show moderated content" turned off (the default), then I think this previous discussion, PerlMonks Search Regex, would have been directly above the input box (if you used the one at the bottom of Perl Monks Discussion) while you were entering your question. :)

And I guess you haven't noticed that the regular search now ignores 3-letter words as well (see (tye)Re: Searching and Typing). That too should be changing, hopefully soon.

This site is an unpaid job and so things often take longer than most of us would like.

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
