File::Slurp is broken on Windows for certain builds of Perl, due to sysread() not working correctly. See also Re^5: File::Slurp bug? Should I bother?.

    That shouldn't be a problem, since he should be using binmode anyway. ("These built-ins now always operate in 'binary' mode.")
